Paris Saint-Germain are enjoying a rich vein of form early in the season in the season, scoring 21 goals across 6 games that has seen them collecting maximum points. While that may be a pretty impressive stat and a clear message to title rivals, scenes unfolded of Cavani – the team’s designated penalty taker – brushing off Neymar’s takeover attempt, a feud that has been found captivating not only by funds but now footballers too.

In a post on his Instagram handle, OG Nice’s Mario Balotelli defended Neymar writing “Neymar, you shouldn’t even [have to] ask to shoot them.”

Now, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid legend Diego Forlan has attacked Neymar and Dani Alves’ ‘lack of respect’ to his fellow compatriot whom they both found at the club. In an interview with Spanish site Sport, the Uruguayan targeted Alves’ involvement in the scuffle.

“If it is a problem between them, that is a normal thing between players. What does not make sense is that Dani Alves acts as if he were Neymar’s bitch, that does not go. I get angry and I have to stand in the place of ‘Edi’ because Alves didn’t give the ball to Cavani as he was holding it for Neymar. He arrives as the most expensive signing in history but you need to have respect for Cavani. Neymar would not have tried to do this to Messi.” He said.

When PSG completed the signing of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, many had tipped the inception of possibly the most lethal front three in modern football, but the recent spat between the two stars highlights a conundrum for Unai Emery who has left it to the Cavani and Neymar to handle.

The two are set to appear for the Parc Des Princes outfit on Saturday away to Montpellier in Ligue 1.
